Hi there,Most commonly lacrimal (tear) duct obstruction in adults appear due to either partially narrowed puncta or facial trauma. In order to treat narrow puncta, lacrimal ducts are flushed and irrigated while the puncta are dilated. However most of the cases of blocked tear ducts post facial trauma, the tear duct drainage system starts functioning again on its own a few months after the injury, and no further treatment is needed. I hope it helps.
